The office is hive of activity this week as one of our sister products Modified Motors looks set to return in a show format. The crew is gearing up to return to Fintona, Co. Tyrone on August 28th with a new event called “Reignited”. This venue was the birthplace of Modified Motors Live events, which went on to become must-attend shows for years to follow. The event takes place in the Ecclesville Centre, which boasts a huge indoor arena, separate trade hall, and tight live action zones that just magnify the atmosphere. This year’s event will see a number of guest appearances from top drift drivers including Monster Energy’s Buttsy Butler in his new Supercharged V8 S15, Europe’s most successful female drifter Danielle Murphy and several others.
Inside the main arena amongst a collection of the finest modified metal the atmosphere will be electric thanks to a purpose built stage with DJ’s playing including a set by former Modified Motors cover girl and Ibiza resident Tess O’Reilly. Northern Ireland’s most loved glamour girl and also a former MM cover girl Laura Lacole will also be at the show for meet and greet opportunities. Already a number of trade stands have booked to display the latest tuning accessories, cleaning products and car audio. Prizes are on offer for various categories on the day so don’t hesitate to book your car or club stand ASAP. About Modified Motors
Modified Motors was Ireland’s leading monthly tuning magazine dealing with all topics relating to the modified car industry. The magazine was set up privately in 2002 as a specialist motor title that catered for tuning car enthusiasts. After a very successful launch at a Dublin motor show the magazine went from strength to strength and was quickly bought by well known automotive publishers Page 7 Media. During this period the magazine grew to staggering heights consistently outselling all other automotive titles on sale in Ireland.
In annual market share reports distributed by Easons, Modified Motors even outsold all UK imported titles. The magazine was twice nominated for best consumer magazine at the PPA awards. Such was the success of the brand that a merchandise range of clothing, stickers, calendars and even a house music CD were launched. In addition to this, Modified Motors Live was created allowing the publishers to bring the magazine to life by filling venues such as the RDS, Millstreet, Fintona, Punchestown and Citywest with bespoke events featuring live action and Ireland’s best show cars.
Sadly copy sales started to deteriorate in late 2009. The economic downturn forced the majority of aftermarket suppliers out of business and thus killed a major part of the magazine’s revenue stream. In early 2011 Modified Motors put its last issue on shelf. It was a roller coaster ride for the team for 9 years and a product they are particularly proud of. In 2012 the magazine was sold back to the original creators and now sits with MediaVault who currently publish Bike Buyers Guide, Farm & Plant, Player Ireland and Ireland’s Dirt Bike Annual. The team are currently working on resurrecting the Modified Motors brand in a show format called Reignited but don’t be surprised if the magazine graces the shelf in the future.
