The new Alfa Romeo Giulia is one of the most anticipated cars within the Alfa Romeo range in the past number of years  and it is due to arrive in Irish showrooms by November of this year. Alfa Romeo Ireland has now confirmed pricing and specification for the Irish market.

First up, how much will the new Giulia cost? Prices start from €39,995 with a total of five trim levels and four engine versions available to choose from which are mated to a ZF eight-speed automatic gearbox. There will be two diesel versions available. Both are 2.2 litre JTD with either 150hp or 180hp. There will also be a 2.0 litre petrol variant with 200hp. The range topper and the one that will try to blow your socks off is a 2.9 litre V6 petrol engine with 510hp which is capable of 0 – 100 km/hr in 3.9 seconds.

The new Alfa Romeo Giulia has been built around an all new rear wheel drive system. Engineers have worked tirelessly in order to achieve the perfect 50/50 balance across its axles whilst a sophisticated front and rear suspension system has been specifically tuned in order to maximise its dynamics and abilities and enhance driving comfort.

The new Alfa Romeo Giulia will feature five new trim levels; Giulia, Super, Super Sport, Super Lux and the range topper, the Quadrifoglio along with 13 different exterior colour options. Even with the entry level Giulia trim it is equipped with Forward Collision Warning, Autonomous Emergency Brake, Pedestrian Recognition, Integrated Brake System and Lane Departure Warning all as standard. It is no surprise then that the new Alfa Romeo Giulia has achieved a Euro NCAP rating of Five Stars with a 98% protection result for adult occupants, which it is claimed is the highest score ever achieved by a car.

As well as all of the safety spec which is fitted as standard the entry level model will also receive 17-inch alloy wheels, LED rear lights, chrome exhaust and aluminium brake callipers along with a 6.5 inch infotainment display screen, Bluetooth connectivity, dual climate control, rear parking sensors, cruise control, leather steering wheel which includes ignition start button as well as the now instantly recognisable Alfa D.N.A. driving mode selector.

If you are opting for this well spec’d entry level trim there are just two engines to choose from, the 2.2 litre JTD 150hp and the 2.0 litre petrol 200hp with pricing from €39,995 and €40,395 respectively.

Spec it up and go for the “Super” trim and you will receive a new exclusive alloy wheel design along with chromed exterior window surrounds and dual chrome exhaust tips on the 2.2 litre JTD 180hp model. The interior also receives additional features such as an 8.8-inch 3D navigation system along with additional seating options. The engine range comprises of both diesel variants as well as the 2.0 litre petrol 200hp version with pricing starting from €41,995 for the 150hp diesel version.

The Super Sport and Super Lux trims which are also available with the two diesel engines and the 2.0 litre petrol version. With the Super Sport trim you will receive 18-inch alloys, privacy glass, Bi-Xenon headlights with LED DRL whilst inside leather seats are available in three colours and steering column mounted gear paddles.

Step up another level to the Giulia Super Lux and you will receive a rear view camera, adaptive cruise control, power folding mirrors, leather upholstery, Bi-Xenon headlights and 18-inch alloy wheels. Either of these options might be worth looking at as for a limited period they will be available for an additional €171 over the comparable Super version.

The model which most motoring enthusiast will be most drawn to however will be the range topping Giulia Quadrifoglio. This is powered by a 2.9 litre V6 Bi-Turbo petrol engine which has an output of 510hp along with a staggering 600Nm of torque. With an eight speed paddle shift automatic transmission as standard the Quadrifoglio will take you from 0 to 100 km/hour in just 3.9 seconds whilst it will have a reported top speed of 307km/hour. For those of you that are interested, this power plant has emissions of 189g/km which isn’t really that bad when you consider the performance which is being achieved. The kicker here is that pricing will start from €99,945 for the Quadrifoglio model which will be equipped as standard with Quadrifoglio 19-inch alloy wheels, front sports bumper, sporty rear bumper with a distinctive quad tailpipe sports exhaust system, Alfa Active Suspension, Torque Vectoring and D.N.A. Pro Selector with race mode.

Inside the Quadrifoglio will receive sports seats trimmed in leather and Alcantara, exclusive sports steering wheel with ignition button as well as cruise control and speed limiter.
