It’s is good news for the Renault Group as they post great figures for July taking 10.6% market share putting the group firmly in the overall number three position in the market year to date. Renault’s cars achieved a 6.9% share last month with all-new Mégane hitting the number four spot in the hotly contested C-segment category and the popular Captur and Scenic continuing to lead their segments. Renault LCV was once again on the podium in July thanks to excellent performances by the multi-award winning Trafic and Master models. Trafic is not only the best-selling medium van in Ireland but also the number three in the Irish van market.
Smart-buy brand Dacia had an excellent July, taking a 3.4% market share, boosted by a great performance by Sandero which took the number three post in the B-segment category. Dacia celebrated its fifth year launched in Ireland in July, and takes an overall 2.4% market share ahead of many well established brands once again. Year to date Renault Group continues to perform well with market share at 9.9%. Renault models are continuing to hit the spot with customers, with Captur number one in the B-SUV segment and Clio also takes the number four position year to date in the busy B Segment. Grand Scenic was number one in the C-MPV segment category in July and year to date Scenic and Grand Scenic are still at number one position with 17.1% share of the segment.
Renault launched all-new Koleos in early July and already the stylish model is turning heads on Irish roads, moving into the top 10 in the D-SUV segment in July. There’s been a lot of focus on electric vehicles over the past month and the segment is now up on last year to 0.41% year to date. Renault Group was among the first to market mainstream pure electric vehicles. New ZOE Z.E. 40, which has the longest range of any mainstream EV, was launched here in May and is now available at Renault’s 28 dealerships where customers can avail of a 24 hour test drive campaign. Renault expects this campaign to increase awareness of EVs and sales of new ZOE in the months ahead.
Around the country Renault Group was number one best-selling group in Westmeath (21.9%, Waterford (15.8%), Wexford (15.3%), Louth (13.3%) and Carlow (11.7%). Renault Bank had a successful July with €16 million lent to Renault and Dacia customers with 51% taking a finance agreement last month. The 3% APR plus three year servicing offer proved hugely successful with 65% of Renault customers opting for this offer up to the end of July. 60% of customers have chosen PCP finance on new cars year to date.
