From tomorrow Friday 26 October first-time drink-driving offenders will be automatically banned from driving for three months if caught with blood-alcohol levels of between 50 milligrams per 100 millilitres of blood and 80 milligrams per 100 millilitres of blood. Currently, drivers caught at these levels receive three penalty points and no driving ban.
