The fourth generation Škoda Superb builds on the strengths of its predecessor, offering an even more sophisticated design, more space and comfort and state-of-the-art technology. With the new Škoda Superb, customers will once again have the choice between a Combi estate version and a hatchback. A new range of sustainable solutions, including textiles made from 100 percent sustainable materials, has been introduced. Innovative Škoda Smart Dials make for a more tactile experience while a free-standing, 13-inch infotainment screen provides greater ease of use. The interior has a clean and spacious look. Meanwhile, Škoda has optimised its powertrains for even greater efficiency.

John Donegan, Brand Director, Škoda Ireland, says: “The Superb has been the standard-bearer of Škoda’s range for more than 20 years. Now in its fourth generation it adds even more refinement, sculptural design, outstanding spaciousness and cutting-edge technology. Many competitors have abandoned the large saloon segment, leaving retail and fleet customers with the only option of premium saloons and estates. We are confident the new Superb can compete toe to toe with the best premium German cars on quality and refinement while trumping them in terms of spaciousness and value.”

Clever design and aerodynamic refinements have helped reduce fuel consumption while improving performance. Škoda has simplified the engine offering for Ireland, with a new 1.5 TSI mHEV 110 kW (150 hp) and a 2.0 TDI 110 kW (150bhp) diesel to choose from. All new Superb models feature DSG automatic transmissions, with traditional manual gearboxes no longer offered. In hatchback guise, the 1.5 TSI petrol engine, with mild-hybrid technology, consumes just 5.4 litres per 100 km. Prices starts from €48,325 in “Selection” specification.

The 2.0 TDI engine, with prices starting from €48,825, consumes 5.1 litres per 100km of diesel or HVO (hydrotreated vegetable oil).  For an additional €2,000 customers can upgrade from the hatchback to the Combi estate with 690 litres of luggage capacity. Both hatchback and Combi estate versions of the Superb are longer and taller than their predecessors, while wheelbases remain unchanged. The Combi’s total boot capacity with rear seats folded is an impressive 1,920 litres.

Škoda have simplified the specification offering with three versions offered. The entry “Selection” features keyless entry with an alarm and an electrically operated boot door. The “Selection Plus” model adds heated and ventilated leather seats and interior ambient lighting.  A luxurious and heavily specified “Laurin & Klement” model is also available. A “SportLine” version of the Superb will be unveiled towards the end of 2024, for delivery in early 2025.

Improved assistance systems provide even more safety and comfort. Optional new-generation LED Matrix beam headlights and DCC Plus (Dynamic Chassis Control) debut in the new Superb. On the inside, an all-new concept includes a free-standing infotainment display measuring up to 13 inches in size. The gear selector lever has moved to the steering column, enabling a clean, tidy and roomier centre console. In another first for the Superb, a head-up display is available as an option. The new Škoda Smart Dials provide quick, intuitive access to numerous vehicle and infotainment functions.

Design Selections, first introduced with the all-electric Enyaq, provide themed option packs as well as individual options. New features include inductive 15-watt fast charging and simultaneous smartphone cooling, as well as back-friendly Ergo seats with 10 pneumatically controlled massage cushions. The electrically operated load cover in the Combi estate is one of 28 new Simply Clever features.

Launched in 2001, more than 1.6 million Škoda Superbs have rolled off the assembly lines since. In Ireland, the Superb has been the best-selling car in its segment over the last 7 years, with 9,000-plus Superb models delivered to customers to date.

Demand remains strong with 2023 the third most successful year for Superb sales in Ireland since it was launched. The Superb Combi accounted for 19% of the sales mix (1 in 5) with 41% of Superb Sales delivered to Fleet Business Customers. The new Škoda Superb and Superb Combi are available to order now with demonstration examples arriving in authorised Škoda dealers from May.
