Amongst the many new cars revealed at the Geneva Motor Show this week was the new A-Class from Mercedes-Benz. It certainly drew attention, with a very refreshing look and gives a clue to the future design direction of the Mercedes-Benz new models due over the next few years. It sits 18cm closer to the ground than its predecessor and is built on the new B-Class platform. It will come equipped with both petrol and diesel engines when it arrives in Ireland next year. The key seller is likely to be powered by the 1.8l diesel which has the lowest CO2 emissions of just 99g/km. All engines within the range will be fitted with an idle-stop system as standard. Customers can choose between a six-speed manual or a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.
