Just when we thought MINI had thought of almost every conceivable model possible, along comes another new variant, the MINI Paceman. It’s essentially a coupe version of the Countryman and is set to arrive in Ireland in March 2013. It has its own nameplate on the rear, a first for a MINI, it also has its own unique interior, with a rear seat designed around a lounge concept with two individual seats. The Paceman comes with a lowered sports suspension as standard and will be available with a choice of two petrol and two diesel engines. MINI’s ALL4 system is also offered on the Cooper D, SD and Cooper S Paceman variants. For the sporty drivers there is a John Cooper Works Paceman in development. Just some of the standard features include Auto Start/Stop, Shift Point Display, Brake Energy Regeneration and ondemand operation on ancillary units, all aimed at reducing fuel consumption and emissions. Also standard are air conditioning, electric door mirrors and front sports seats, some of the optional extras include Xenon lights, Park Distance Control and satellite navigation. The MINI Paceman will go on sale on the 16th March 2013 with prices commencing from €27,660.
