Ireland is the first European country to receive the new Honda Civic 1.6-litre diesel model, due to arrive in dealerships this December. Prices for this new Civic will commence from €23,695 for the SE grade, standard equipment includes, alloy wheels, climate control, six airbags, alarm and idle stop. This new i-DTEC diesel engine benefits from tax band A placement and will return a combined fuel consumption of just 3.6l/100km. Commenting on the introduction of the new 1.6 i-DTEC, Adrian Cole, Managing Director of Universal Honda Ltd, said ‘The introduction of a new Civic equipped with a 1.6 diesel engine, the first engine in Honda’s new ‘Earth Dreams Technology’ series, is a game changer for Honda and positions Civic in the volume mainstream of the family hatchback segment which accounts for 3 out of every 10 cars sold in the Irish market.
