One of the stars of this week’s Geneva Motor Show is the unveiling of Ferrari’s new hypercar, the successor to the F40, F50 and Enzo, simply called LaFerrari. Getting straight to the all-important details, at the heart of the LaFerrari is a 6.3-litre V12 engine that utilises a hybrid powertrain called HY-KERS. The petrol engine develops 800hp, with the electric motor producing 163hp, combining in a total output of 963hp and in excess of 900Nm of torque. This impressive power will enable the car to accelerate from 0-100km/h in under 3 seconds, official figures have yet to be released.
The interior has been inspired by Formula 1 cars, with Ferrari F1 drivers Alonso and Massa having an input to the car’s interior design. The driver’s seat is fixed and each customer will have it tailored to fit them, the steering wheel and pedal box are adjustable.
