Kia’s new compact MPV the Carens is set to go on sale this May, with prices commencing from €26,490. It will be powered by a 1.7-litre diesel engine and available across three trim specifications, TX,EX and Platinum. Just some of the standard equipment on the entry-level TX variant includes, alloys, LED daytime running lights, cornering lights, rear spoiler, luggage cargo screen, multi-function steering wheel and Bluetooth connectivity. All models are fitted with six airbags, ESC, VSM and Emergency Stop Signal. The new Carens is shorter, narrower and lower than the previous-generation model (by 20 mm, 15 mm and 40 mm, respectively). However, cabin space is generous thanks to the new model’s increased wheelbase (up by 50 mm) and cab-forward design which places the base of the A-pillar above the front-wheel centre line.
