Kia’s new seven-seat Carens arrives in Ireland this week. It promises increased interior space and improved economy over its predecessor. Powering it is a 1.7-litre diesel engine with 115hp and 260Nm of torque. With 129g/km of CO2 the Carens benefits from an annual road tax fee of €270.
The Carens is available across three trim specifications, TX, EX and Platinum. The entry-level TX model is priced from €26,490 and comes complete with alloy wheels, LED daytime running lights, cornering lights, a rear spoiler and Bluetooth connectivity. The EX (€27,790) variant includes such items as LED rear lights, rear privacy glass, dual zone air conditioning, rear parking sensors and a rear view camera. The range-topping Platinum (€31,790) model features leather upholstery, heated front seats, a panoramic sunroof and front parking sensors. All models come equipped with electronic stability control, vehicle stability management and emergency stop signal as standard.
