Volkswagen has retained its number one position as the top-selling brand in Ireland. The start of the new 132-plate has seen 11,640 new cars registered for July, with Volkswagen delivering 8,233 units ahead of Toyota in second place and Ford in third. The Volkswagen Golf is the number one model of 2013 to date, with 3,241 Golf’s registered, which gives it a five per cent marker share.
Commenting on these recent figures, Paul Burke Volkswagen Operations Director said, “We have been particularly delighted with showroom traffic in July and I don’t think we could have hoped for a much better month from an industry perspective”. “What is also very encouraging are the orders coming in that will be delivered in the coming months and the increase of finance activity, especially on our PCP Personal Contract Plans,” added Burke.
