BMW’s new BMW X3 will go on sale nationwide this June, with prices commencing from €46,680 for the X3 sDrive 18d SE. This new model comes equipped with a new generation of TwinPower Turbo diesel engines, offering excellent performance with superb economy. The entry-level sDrive 18d has a combined fuel consumption of 5.0L/100km and 131g/km of CO2. The range-topping xDrive 35d can accelerate to 100km/h from a standstill in just 5.3 seconds and go on to a top speed of 245 km/h.

The new BMW X3 range has some new colours and revisions to its exterior and interior designs. The standard level of equipment has been increased across the range in comparison to its predecessor. There are three trim levels on offer, SE. xLine and Msport. The SE models come equipped with Nevada leather upholstery, two-zone air conditioning, cruise control, DAB radio, Bluetooth and USB connectivity, 17” alloys, front and rear parking sensors, driver performance control, automatic lights and wipers, BMW Business navigation system, heated front seats and an automatic tailgate as standard. New to the range is the xLine trim level, these variants have metallic inserts in the bumpers, Satin aluminium side cladding and bars in the air intakes, front and rear underguards and exclusive 18” alloy wheels. The interior features xLine leather upholstery, dark copper trim and a sport leather steering wheel.

The key seller in the range and our firm favourite is the X3 xDrive20d, this 2.0-litre diesel engine has been treated to a power increase, up from 184hp to 190hp, with a 20Nm gain in torque too, now having 400Nm of torque. When linked to the silky-smooth eight-speed automatic transmission this model emits 138g/km of CO2, with an annual road tax fee of €280. The flagship model the X3 xDrive35d certainly offers plenty of power, with 313hp and 630Nm of torque available, it’s sure to thrill on any surface.
