Opel will unveil its new Corsa OPC at the forthcoming Geneva Motor Show on the 5th March. Their new small hot-hatch packs a punch, with 207hp and 280Nm of torque produced from its 1.6-litre turbocharged petrol engine. Opel has worked closely with damper-supplier, Koni, to develop a new technology, known as Frequency Selective Damping (FSD) for the new Corsa OPC. FSD allows damping forces to adapt to the car’s movements, ensuring that body control is maintained when the car is driven fast, but ride quality is optimised at lower speeds. In addition, the car’s ride height has been lowered by 10mm all round. This new Corsa OPC will have a two-stage switchable electronic stability programme, in competition mode the traction control in inactive and the ESP is less intervening, for track use the ESP can be fully disabled.

This new Corsa OPC has an aggressive front-end that features large air intakes and an aluminium-framed opening below the headlights. The rear boasts a spoiler and twin Remus exhaust pipes. The interior features Recaro sports seats, a leather flat-bottomed steering wheel, sports pedals, a heated windscreen and Itellilink connectivity for Apple iOS and Android smartphones. Prices and full specifications will be announced closer the car’s official launch.
