The new Peugeot 208 1.6L Blue HDI, equipped with Michelin Energy Saver + tyres, has set the record for the lowest fuel consumption for a mass-produced vehicle of just 2l/100 km – or 141mpg in old money. Michelin Energy Saver + tyres are rated A in terms of energy efficiency for European tyre labels and the Company claims one full tank out of 5 can be directly attributed to tyres, as overall fuel consumption can vary by 0.4l/100 km between an A and F label tyre – representing fuel savings of 168 litres over the tyre life cycle (approx. 45,000 km).
