Mercedes-Benz will launch their all-new GLC mid-size SUV this October. The GLC will sit between the GLA and GLE, it replaces the GLK a model that was only available in left-hand-drive format. The GLC utilises the latest C-Class platform, with a longer wheelbase. The interior is spacious with an array of infotainment features on board. From launch four models will be available, all with 4MATIC permanent all-wheel drive as standard. The diesel models consist of a 170hp GLC220d 4MATIC and a 204hp GLC 250d 4MATIC. There will also be a 211hp GLC 250 4MATIC petrol and a GLC 350e 4MATIC plug-in Hybrid offering with 211hp and 116hp outputs.
Customers can choose from the entry-level model which comes well equipped. There is an Exclusive line that offers 18” wheels with extensive chrome and aluminium trim highlights. The AMG line boasts 19” wheels and AMG bumpers. Also within the GLC’s extensive array of features are air body control, agility control, air suspension and dynamic select handling control systems plus all of the collision prevention and attention assist systems for which Mercedes-Benz is noted. Commenting on the new GLC, Ciaran Allen, Sales Manager for Mercedes-Benz Ireland said, ‘Expected to launch here at prices in the mid-forties, with the customary high level of standard specifications, the GLC is a model for which we have been waiting. It will fill a void in our model range and will appeal to motorists across the board attracting male and female drivers in equal measure’.
