Pricing for the new Leon starts at €23,910 RRP for the petrol Leon with PCP Finance as low as 2.9% across the new Leon range, and monthly payments starting from €239. Pricing for the diesel SEAT Leon starts at €26,040 RRP and monthly payments from €269. Customers can also avail of a discounted 3-year service plan for only €9.99 and 2.9% PCP Finance until the 31st July 2020. The SEAT Leon remains a core model for the brand in the Irish market. The all-new fourth generation Leon will launch with traditional TSI and TDI engines as well as the new addition of a mild hybrid electric vehicle engine (eTSI), a first for the brand.

The all-new Leon boasts five engine options, providing plenty of choice for the SEAT customer. These options include two petrol engine choices in the 1.0 TSI 110hp and a 1.5 TSI 150hp; the two Diesel options include a 2.0 TDI 115hp and a 2.0 TDI 150hp DSG; and new to the range, the mild hybrid electric vehicle engine (eTSI) available in a 1.5 eTSI 150 DSG. This all- new Leon comes with a host of features as standard, such as 16” alloy wheels, an 8” media system and SEAT Connect. As well as this a number of safety items will also come as standard on the Leon range including adaptive cruise control, light assist (headbeam assist) and fatigue detection. The Xcellence and FR trims offer customers even more additional features as standard with 17” alloy wheels on Xcellence and 18” allow wheels on FR, a full digital cockpit, full LED lights, coast to coast rear lights, wrap around interior lighting, a connectivity box and much more.

The all-new SEAT Leon uses the advanced MQB Evo platform as its foundation to maximise the key elements that make it one of the most practical options in the market. Inside, thanks to increased overall vehicle dimensions, all aspects have been designed to be ergonomically precise, increasing interior space for rear occupants, while load space is improved (for the Sportstourer version) over the previous generation, making it an even more practical choice. Giving the design team greater flexibility, the Leon is now 4,368mm long (+86mm) and 1,456mm high (-3mm) in 5-door form and it has an increased wheelbase of 2,686mm, 50mm more than the previous generation vehicle- the latter increase has meant more room has been added to the interior of the car. The all-new SEAT Leon’s rear space has improved by 49mm, meaning occupants remain comfortable whether the journey is a short local hop or an adventure further afield.

The fourth generation of the SEAT Leon is the safest vehicle the brand has ever developed, thanks in particular, to the integration of a state-of-the-art suite of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS). The aim is not only to protect passengers from potential accidents, but also to prevent accidents from occurring. For this reason the vehicle’s systems are always alert and monitor the car’s environment with images and data gathered by a camera, as well as ultrasonic and radar sensors. Thanks to this system, the new SEAT Leon can react when facing obstacles on the road or sudden movements of other drivers, and provide effective driver assistance when necessary, alerting drivers to a dangerous situation or minimising the risk or consequences of an accident. ADAS include, for example, predictive Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), Emergency Assist, and Side and Exit Assist, which combine to protect the vehicle and its occupants when driving or stationary.

The all-new SEAT Leon is the brand’s first fully connected car and will now offer connectivity with Full Link – Android Auto and also wireless access to Apple’s CarPlay and online infotainment and soon this new model will offer in car apps that expand and improve the customer’s driving experience. With the optional Connectivity Box with inductive charging that meets Qi standard protocols, users needn’t worry about losing power at crucial moments. The Online Connectivity Unit also has an embedded SIM, meaning that the new Leon will never lose its connection to the digital world, and, in future developments, the system will allow users to access the latest infotainment apps which can be updated at any time. This means the all-new SEAT Leon will be able to offer new digital products and services throughout its lifetime.

The built-in eSIM also means that the SEAT Leon benefits from the eCall services, which directly contacts emergency services should an incident occur, adding yet another level of safety to the vehicle. It’s not only the possibility to make an emergency call (manual or automatic) but also that important data from the car will be sent to the emergency services such as car position, engine type, colour or number of passenger, making it easier for them to assist. Once outside the vehicle, thanks to the SEAT Connect app, users can remotely access their vehicle’s data: driving data, parking position, vehicle’s status, including doors and lights, set up speed alerts so you can be warned if someone using your vehicles is driving too quickly, area and anti-theft alerts, open and close the doors with the remote lock and unlock service, or can remotely activate the horn and turn signals to find the car more easily. A new world is being opened up thanks to the SEAT Connect app which can be downloaded to your smart device, giving remote control over a plethora of functions that will help maximise the drivers enjoyment and help improve safety too.

The new SEAT Leon is the most advanced vehicle in the history of the brand, and this translates through its cutting-edge illumination technology, bringing LEDs to a level of sophistication and efficiency that were previously unknown. The fourth generation Leon offers two levels of front illumination, the standard LED in the SE and SE+ trims use four diodes per headlight and offers 550 lumens (luminous flux on the road, low beam). In the Xcellence and FR trims, the SEAT Leon uses full LED dynamic headlights, with up to 900 lumens and 11 light-emitting diodes per module as standard, which provides illumination with greater intensity and accuracy without dazzling other vehicles. LED technology also permits more freedom in the design. The rear of the new SEAT Leon offers, in the Xcellence and FR versions, functional illumination that connects the lighting groups across the width of the body, called “coast to coast”.

Niall Phillips, Brand Director at SEAT Ireland commented“We are very excited to welcome the all-new SEAT Leon to Ireland. The Leon is a firm favourite among Irish customers and we are confident that they will love the fourth generation even more. The new Leon brings a new level of technology, design and safety to this segment with one of the lowest CO2 measures in its class.

The launch of this new Leon marks another innovative moment in the overall evolution of SEAT. It’s great to be able to offer our customers even more variety of high-quality vehicles”.
