Sales of FIAT’s popular Fiat 500 have topped 100,000 in the UK, just four-and-a-half years after the car’s launch in right-hand-drive form. This sales success follows on from April’s sales figures in the UK, showing 2,600 sales consequently making it into the ten best sellers list. 80 per cent of all Fiat 500 sales have been the 1.2-litre petrol engine models, with 48 per cent of these finished in the top of the range Lounge Specification. Fiat’s award-winning two-cylinder TwinAir engine accounts for eight per cent of total sales. Back closer to home, the Fiat 500 has also been successful, with sales exceeding 1,200 since the car’s launch in 2008.
