Fiat has unveiled two new versions of its popular Fiat 500 at the Los Angeles Auto Show, the Fiat 500L Trekking and the 500e. Commenting on the new 500L Trekking, Tim Kuniskis, Fiat Brand Manager for North America said, , “With the rugged personality of the Trekking we will attract a wider cross-section of customers while keeping intact all the great benefits of the Fiat 500L.” The 500L boasts distinctive looks with aggressively-styled front and rear bumpers and sits on 17” alloys. The interior features a two-tone black/brown colour scheme, with a choice of a 5.0 or 6.5” touch-screen Uconnect infotainment system.
The Fiat 500e is powered by an all-new 111hp (83kw) battery-electric drivetrain, with an approximate range of 130km. It will recharge in under four hours. Inside the Fiat 500e has a new 7” full-colour TFT instrument cluster. A smartphone application also enables real-time vehicle status updates and charge management, while also helping the driver to locate the vehicle, search for nearby charging stations, plan and send routes to the vehicle and provide text-message alerts
