Jeep has launched its all-new Cherokee across Ireland, with prices commencing from €36,000. It’s powered by a 2.0-litre MultiJet II turbo-diesel engine with two power outputs, 140hp and 170hp and in both front-wheel and four-wheel-drive. The entry-level Longitude model comes equipped with cruise control, parking sensors and dual-zone air-conditioning as standard. In the centre console you can choose between a 5” colour touch-screen or an 8.4” version.
Commenting on the new Cherokee, Mark Allen, head of Jeep Design said, “Our objective with the Cherokee was to convey visually that this is an all-new Jeep while still communicating legendary best-in-class capability. But the rest of the equation has changed. Our vision was a smooth and flowing upper body with signature Jeep cues such as the peaked seven-slot grille, trapezoidal wheel arches and the functional ‘kink’ in the beltline mated to a tough, durable lower body. We wanted a design that is fluid and efficient yet still rugged and as at home on the trail as outside the theatre.”
The interior is spacious and comfortable, the rear seats recline and slide forwards and backwards to increase storage space or leg room. The 140hp variant offers a combined fuel consumption of 5.3L/100km and CO2 emissions of 139g/km. The powerful 170hp model produces 350Nm of torque and will return a combined fuel consumption of 5.8L/100km with CO2 emissions of 154g/km.
