Skoda is honouring its founders Vaclav Laurin and Vaclav Klement with a limited edition Superb. The pair founded Skoda in 1895 and by 1912 became the largest manufacturer in the then Austro-Hungarian Empire by 1912. The Superb L&K (Laurin and Klement) is powered by a 2.0-litre TDI diesel engine with 170hp. It features unique two-tone L&K design 18” alloys and has an L&K plaquette on the front wings. The interior features brown shade leather upholstery embossed with the L&K logo. Commenting on the announcement, Raymond Leddy, Head of Marketing, Skoda Ireland said, “ŠKODA has a rich history, situated in the heart of Europe they have overcome two world wars and endured communism to emerge as one of Europe’s most promising car brands. As ŠKODA continues to grow and release new models into the marketplace with the Citigo released in July and the Rapid expected in Ireland in November, we feel now is a perfect time to commemorate our founders by releasing the Superb L&K.” Prices commence from €36,645 with just 40 models available in Ireland.
