Michelin’s new CrossClimate tyres have been given the ‘thumbs up’ by fleet managers at Scottish, West Yorkshire and other UK ‘blue light’ emergency services after a day of intensive testing in dry, wet and simulated ice conditions, using a special ceramic-tiled road surface. Billed by Michelin as its most important innovation for a decade, the new CrossClimate tyre is built to perform equally well on sun-baked roads in Summer and on snow-covered roads in Winter. Michelin hosted the test day due to the large numbers of emergency service fleets currently switching between summer and winter tyres, coupled with the need for crews to reach incidents quickly and safely.
