Mitsubishi Motors Ireland has announced pricing for the Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV (Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle). Prices will commence from €41,950 and it will launch in June 2014. This price includes the €5,000 SEAI grant and Government VRT relief for Plug-in Hybrids. The Outlander PHEV has three driving modes, EV, Series Hybrid and Parallel Hybrid. In EV mode the vehicle runs solely on electric power, in Series Hybrid mode the car is powered by the front and rear motors, with the petrol engine supplying electricity to the electric motors. In Parallel Hybrid mode, the petrol engine provides most of the power, assisted by the electric motors as required.
