It is no secret that electric vehicles faced some mixed publicity this year in the Irish press due to issues like possible high battery costs ‘should something go wrong’, poor resale values and a charging infrastructure that seems to be lagging behind some of European neighbours. The reality is, a lot of it came down to misinformation and events like the free to attend NEVO Electric Vehicle Show which, took place February last in Dublins RDS, done an incredible job of educating the some 12,672 people in attendance.

As the winter arrives, many of us, may be considering a vehicle change for the 251 registration period. With this in mind, and electric vehicles still very much in the spotlight, the team in NEVO look set to return to the RDS on Sunday November 10th to demonstrate just how fast things are changing within the EV sector. With over 80 electric vehicles from more than 30 leading automotive brands the show has had to move to Simmonscourt to make use of the larger floor space. Attendees will have the unique opportunity to explore a diverse range of electric vehicles, from nimble city cars to high-performance models and versatile family vehicles.

So what made NEVO’s event last February so different to that of simply visiting your local dealership we hear you ask? Well, at the event, visitors can engage with industry experts who will be on hand to provide invaluable insights and dispel any uncertainties about electric vehicles. You can see all the major brands under one roof and book in advance for one of the many on-site test drive opportunities. The show will also highlight the latest 251 finance offers, allowing attendees to better understand the affordability options available when transitioning to electric mobility.

Having attended the event back in February we particularly enjoyed the series of panel discussions with key industry leaders on the Bank of Ireland stage. Such was the popularity of this section, a second stage will be added in Simmonscourt where attendees can expect a focus on the more practical aspects of owning and operating an electric vehicle. Topics covered will include charging options, solar integration along with information regarding the used electric vehicle market. Again this should dispel some myths and equip visitors with the knowledge and tools necessary to make the most of their electric vehicle ownership experience.

Finally this upcoming NEVO Electric Vehicle Show will not just be for individual consumers but also businesses, both large and small. Whether you’re considering converting your fleet to electric vehicles or upgrading to greener energy solutions, a range of experts will be available to guide people through the process. A number of electric commercial vans will offer businesses a glimpse into the future of sustainable transport. The event is held in collaboration with SSE Airtricity and is supported by ZEVI (Zero Emission Vehicles Ireland), promising to deliver an immersive and informative experience that showcases the present and future of electric mobility.
