Great news for hot hatch fans, the all-new Renault Megane R.S. has been officially launched, prior to going on sale in Ireland this summer. There’s a lot to get excited about this legendary hot hatch. This third generation Megane R.S. is available with both a manual and a dual clutch automatic transmission, across two variants, the Sport and Cup. The car now benefits from Renault’s 4Control four-wheel steering system, at high speeds the front and rear wheels turn in the same direction, limited to a one degree angle for the rear wheels and at low speeds, the front and rear wheels turn in opposite directions up to a maximum angle of 2.7 degrees.
Powering the car is a 1.8-litre petrol engine that produces 280hp and 390Nm of torque. Onboard, drivers can film their track sessions and overlay telemetry data to create augmented reality videos with the new R.S. Monitor Expert. A Trophy version will be launched later in the year, this model will utilise the Cup chassis with 300hp and 400Nm of torque.
Prices will announced closer to the car’s launch this summer.
