The new Skoda Octavia RS will arrive in Ireland this coming July and is set to be the fastest Octavia yet. It will be available initially in the Combi (estate) version and customers can choose from two engines, a 2.0-litre TDI diesel with 184hp or a 2.0-litre TSI petrol variant which produces 220hp. Both engines are mated to a six-speed manual or optional DSG dual clutch automatic transmission.
The level of standard equipment has been increased over its predecessor, with 18” alloy wheels, sports seats, Bi-Xenon headlights with LED daytime running lights and twin exhausts all included. Prices are yet to be finalised but we expect them to commence from €32,495 for the 2.0-litre TDI Octavia RS. Commenting on the announcement of the new Octavia RS, Raymond Leddy, Head of Marketing for Skoda Ireland said, “The Octavia RS has always been a very unique proposition, we would all love to drive sporty high performance vehicles but are prevented from doing so because we assume they are unpractical and are expensive to run and purchase. The RS expels these myths with exceptional luggage and interior spaciousness and fuel economy from just 4.6 l/100km (61mpg)”.
