Peugeot has launched its all-new 308 GT, their flagship 308 model. It’s available in hatchback and station-wagon body styles with a choice of a petrol or diesel engine. The GT’s exterior has some design tweaks over the standard variant, the Peugeot Lion emblem has moved from the bonnet to the front grille. The 308 GT has 18” Diamant wheels with Michelin Pilot Sport 3 tyres, at the rear there is a lacquered black diffuser and twin exhaust pipes. The interior has red stitching on the upholstery, dash, door panels, gear lever gaiter and floor mats.
The Driver Sport Pack, standard on every 308 GT, includes an amplified, sporty engine noise, firmer and more responsive power steering, more responsive accelerator pedal mapping and a more responsive automatic gearbox with steering wheel-mounted paddles. The 308 GT has a lower ride height (7mm lower) than the standard models. The petrol engine is a 1.6-litre THP that produces 205hp and 285Nm of torque. The diesel model has a 2.0-litre BlueHDi engine with 180hp and 400Nm of torque. The new Peugeot 308 GT will be available in Ireland this Spring, with prices and full specifications to be confirmed closer to the car’s arrival.
