If you’re a keen motorcyclist and enjoy a good spin, then the annual REV-UP 4 DSI is a trip certainly not worth missing. Now in its seventh year, this annual 1,000km trip across the most scenic parts of Ireland has raised in excess of €1.1 million for Down Syndrome Ireland, a very worthwhile cause indeed.
This year’s event is set to take place from the 5th to the 7th May 2012 with in excess of 100 riders riding a diverse range of motorcycles. Day one will see the participants depart from Joe Duffy Motorrad, Dublin to an undisclosed destination. They will travel approximately 300km on scenic roads via three checkpoints to reach their final destination, where they’ll be met with a BBQ and drinks to relax from their day’s adventure. Day two will consist of the RPM Motorcycles/Shark Helmets Poker Run which promises to be a fun challenge for all participants, with each of them collecting cards along the way. That evening there will be a prize giving ceremony with plenty of awards and raffles.
The final day of REV-UP 4 DSI consists of the return journey to Dublin amongst beautiful country scenery with not a motorway in sight. The motorcyclists will have a Garda escort to their final destination, the Louis Fitzgerald Hotel, Naas Road, Dublin where they will be joined by friends and family.
This year’s trip promises to be as exciting and action-packed as ever and would not be possible without the generous help and support from the REV-UP 4 DSI Sponsors, which include BMW Motorrad Ireland, PolePositionTravel.com, Bridgestone, Tayto Park, Bike Buyers Guide, The Irish Sun, The Sunday World, Shark Helmets, Road Racing Ireland and many more.
