Skoda’s new Octavia RS is now on sale across Ireland. It’s available in both petrol and diesel variants, with prices commencing from €32,745 for the 2.0-litre TDI 184hp model and €35,245 for the 2.0-litre TSI petrol variant which boasts 220hp. The first model on offer is the Combi (estate), the hatchback will arrive in September.
These new third-generation Octavia RS’s offer more power then their predecessors and will use up to 19 per cent less fuel. Customers can choose from a six-speed manual or six-speed DSG dual-clutch automatic transmission. The car features sports suspension and is 12mm lower then its precursor, it’s also fitted with a new XDS electronic differential lock that’s integrated into the electronic stability control system. It’s grown in size too, and is 88mm longer and 45mm wider, in the case of the hatchback. Both models come equipped with 18” alloys, Bi-Xenon headlights and twin exhausts.
