SsangYong Motors Ireland is celebrating the 60th anniversary of SsangYong. They re-entered the Irish market last year with a range of passenger and commercial vehicles. Commenting on SsangYong CEO Joe Harris said, ‘Agricultural consumers and business owners are where most of our sales will be in early 2015, we’re quickly becoming known as the go-to brand for commercial vehicles. In the passenger market we’ve experienced success with the medium sized crossover Korando and aim to build on the success of the Korando with the launch of our new X100 model in July. It will be our first 1.6 engine and will come in petrol and diesel. This will compete with the Renault Captur and Nissan Juke. It will also mean we will have a car for every family size – from the seven seat Rodius to the medium sized Korando crossover right down to the compact X100. With SsangYong sales increasing 41% in the European market since 2013, we predict continued growth for the SsangYong brand internationally and nationally over the coming year. ‘
