BMW’s updated X6 is due out this Spring with enhancements both externally and on the interior. The X6 was launched three years ago with more than 150,000 models sold since launch. This latest model will come equipped with petrol and diesel engines harnessing BMW’s TwinPower Turbo Technology and xDrive all-wheel-drive system.
The new X6 will come fitted with bi-xenon headlights as standard, with optional adaptive LED headlamps available. The adaptive LED headlights will come fitted as standard in the X6 M. The rear lights have been redesigned using LED technology. Customers can choose from a choice of two non-metallic and eight metallic exterior colours including Marrakech Brown as pictured here. As in the first generation X6 there’s only seating for four occupants, although there’s a optional three-seater rear seat now available.
For the sport-orientated customers there’s an optional M Sport Edition available, these models come well equipped with items such as 20” alloys, adaptive LED headlamps, alcantara/nappa leather interior and an M Sport leather steering wheel with shift paddles included.
The engine line-up consists of petrol and diesel derivatives. The X6 xDrive30d produces 245hp while the xDrive40d has 306hp. Despite their impressive performance they’ll return a notable 7.4l/100km and 7.5l/100km respectively on a combined run. As part of BMW’s new line-up of high performance diesels to come under the name of BMW M Performance Automobile, there’ll be an X6 M50d. This six-cylinder diesel engine utilises triple turbo charging to produce 381hp and an impressive 740Nm of torque.
The top of the range X6M will be powered by a petrol V8 engine producing 555hp and delivers this power through a six-speed M Sport automatic transmission, whilst all other models utilise an eight-speed automatic gearbox.
