SEAT’s new generation Toledo is due to arrive on Irish shores towards the end of 2012, with prices expected to commence around €18,000. Sales of the previous generation Toledo’s reached in excess of 860,000 units, and with the stylish and sporty looks this new has on offer, SEAT should are hoping for success again. Commenting on the announcement Adam Chamberlain, SEAT Ireland’s Brand Director said, “The Toledo is a key product for the Irish market and we are confident that the new model’s extraordinary value twinned with its practicality and good looks will make it a firm favourite with shrewd Irish buyers.”
This new Toledo is slightly larger then its predecessor (4cm longer). Powering the new SEAT Toledo will be a 1.2-litre petrol engine that produces 75hp and a 1.6-litre TDI diesel engine which offers 105hp. The TDI variant will be the key seller, with just 114g/km of CO2 it’s placed in tax band A, with €160 annual road tax. Next year we’ll see the introduction of a new 90hp TDI model. Just some of the standard equipment for all Toledos includes driver and passenger airbags, front side airbags and head/thorax airbags. Also included is a three year warranty.
