Volvo has just launched automatic versions of its DRIVe diesel models. Customers can now drive the Volvo S60, V60, V70 and S80 with a Powershift dual-clutch automatic gearbox. What’s impressive about this, is that these automatic versions coupled with the DRIVe diesel engines will return the same fuel consumption as their manual counterparts. Speaking at the launch of the new models Peter Mertens, Senior Vice President Research and Development of Volvo commented “For the first time ever, we have managed to bring the fuel consumption in variants with an automatic gearbox down to the same level as in the manual versions. An impressive achievement by our powertrain experts.”
The fuel consumption figures based on a combined cycle and the CO2 ratings for the models are listed below:
Volvo S60 DRIVe Automatic – 4.3l/ 100km (65.7mpg) & 114g/km
Volvo V60 DRIVe Automatic – 4.5l/ 100km (62.8mpg) & 119g/km
Volvo V70 DRIVe Automatic – 4.5l/ 100km (62.8mpg) & 119g/km
Volvo S80 DRIVe Automatic – 4.5l/ 100km (62.8mpg) & 119g/km
The DRIVe Powershift models are on sale now with prices commencing from €34,764 for the S60 DRIVe.
