Volvo will be displaying two new variants of its V40 at this week’s Paris Motor Show, the V40 R-Design and V40 Cross Country. The V40 R-Design, finished in Rebel Blue features a sporty exterior, with a high-gloss grille, re-profiled front bumper and rear diffuser. To complete the look, the R-Design model sits on 17” five-spoke alloys, with 18” ones available as an upgrade. The interior has also been treated to some subtle design tweaks, with R-Design leather/T-Tec upholstery, a sports steering wheel, sports pedals and aluminium inlays. Customers can opt for the sports chassis, this offers a 10mm lower ride height, with firmer suspension. The car’s anti-roll bars are larger in diameter to offer a more sporty drive. All engines from the V40 range are available in the R-Design model, with prices to be announced in early October.
Also debuting at the Paris Motor Show is the Volvo V40 Cross Country, a rugged-looking car. It’s easily identifiable within the range, with a 40mm increase in ride height and sculpted side sills with unique front and rear bumpers. The Raw Copper launch colour is matched in the interior with contrasting stitching. The interior also features mood lighting for front and rear seat occupants. All engine versions feature start-stop and braking energy regeneration for optimised fuel efficiency. Production of the V40 Cross Country is set to commence in November.
