Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles Ireland has announced full pricing and specification details for the new Transporter and Caravelle. The new, seventh-generation Transporter and Caravelle are two of the most versatile vehicles on the market. The new generation Transporter, which replaces the T6.1, has been improved in all areas; offering a significant increase in space, more body styles, higher payload, significantly optimised efficiency and state-of-the-art car-like features.
In addition, Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles Ireland is offering customers peace of mind, with an unbeatable package of 5-years’ warranty, 5-years’ roadside assistance and 5-years’ service plan, all included in the price. Completing the modern era’s Volkswagen van range, alongside the Multivan, California, and ID. Buzz, the new Transporter is a significant upgrade on the T6.1, which was made from 2015 to 2024, offering more space, a bigger payload and increased towing capacity.
Priced from €39,265, the Transporter is available in Ireland with a variety of efficient turbodiesel and electric drive systems. Three newly developed 2.0-litre four-cylinder TDI engines, with outputs of 110 PS, 150 PS and 170 PS, form the basis of the internal combustion engine line-up. A choice of six-speed manual and eight-speed automatic transmissions are available as well as all-wheel drive 4Motion versions.
The new e-Transporter is priced from €57,495 (€53,695 after grants). It comes with an all-electric, rear-wheel powered drivetrain featuring three outputs – 136PS, 218PS and 286PS. All versions get their power from a 64kWh net capacity battery, giving a range of up to 331km* (*based on WLTP figures) on a single charge. An optional all-wheel drive version will follow. The Transporter panel van is offered in short- and long wheelbase guises with normal or high roofs, giving customers the load carrying capacity they desire.
Base versions measure 5,050mm long, an increase of 146 mm compared with their T6.1 predecessor. The wheelbase has increased by 97 mm to 3,100 mm. Long wheelbase versions of the Transporter and Caravelle have a total length of 5,440mm. Stowage volume has increased to between 5.8 m3 for the smallest version to 9m3 for the long wheelbase, high-roofed model. The long-wheelbase Transporter can accommodate three Euro pallets, takes a payload of up to 1.33t (TDI only) and has a towing capacity of up to 2.8t.
Entry level Trendline models (from €39,265) feature a generous list of standard equipment, including cruise control, keyless start, 6-way adjustable driver seat with lumbar support, LED roof lights, front and rear parking sensors, a rear-view camera, 12-inch digital cockpit and 13-inch touchscreen with DAB+, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility. The PanAmericana (from €42,840) add 19-inch alloys, LED headlights with separate LED daytime running lights, stainless steel scuff plates with illuminated “PanAmericana” lettering, heated seats, Panamericana seat coverings, seven, 15W USB charging ports and a 12v outlet in dashboard.
The new Caravelle (starting from €62,725) has been developed with professional passenger transport in mind. Entry level models come with six rear seats on board: three removable individual seats in the second row and a removable three-seat bench in the third row. At the front, the Caravelle can be optionally equipped with a double bench seat, transforming it from an eight-seater into a nine-seater (Shuttle and Life trim levels only).
Engine options include the 2.0 TDI 150PS, available with manual and automatic transmissions, and the 170PS TDI which comes with an automatic box. The all-electric e-Caravelle comes with two power outputs – 136PS and 218PS.
