The Jeep Avenger 4xe made its grand debut during its first European Media Drive in Florence, set against the picturesque Tuscan hills. This event provided journalists and industry experts with an immersive experience, showcasing the Avenger 4xe’s striking design, cutting-edge technology, and exhilarating performance. Jeep’s newest B-SUV redefines expectations, combining exclusive styling with exceptional all-wheel-drive capabilities while staying true to the brand’s legendary off-road heritage.
The Avenger 4xe balances elegance with ruggedness, featuring reinforced exterior elements such as front anti-scratch bumpers, redesigned fog lights, roof rails for added storage, and all-season Mud & Snow tires. Enhanced underbody protection and a rear tow hook further bolster its off-road readiness. Inside, the cabin prioritises comfort and practicality, with durable, waterproof seat materials treated for stain and mud resistance.
Engineered to tackle diverse terrains, the Avenger 4xe boasts optimized off-road angles: 22° approach, 21° breakover, and 35° departure angles, along with a 210mm ground clearance. Its water fording capability reaches up to 400mm, making it more robust than the front-wheel-drive model. A 22.7:1 reducer on the rear axle delivers an impressive 1,900 Nm of rear-wheel torque, allowing the vehicle to handle 40% slopes on challenging terrain and maintain traction even when the front axle has minimal grip.
The Avenger 4xe’s smart AWD system adapts traction distribution based on speed and terrain. At low speeds (-30 to +30 km/h), it maintains permanent all-wheel drive with a 50:50 torque split. At moderate speeds (30-90 km/h), the rear axle engages only when necessary, while at high speeds (above 90 km/h), the rear motor disengages to optimize fuel efficiency. The Selec-Terrain system allows drivers to switch between modes:
- Auto: Engages AWD when needed, with an EV-only mode for up to 1 km under 30 km/h.
- Snow: Maximizes traction and stability for winter conditions.
- Sand & Mud: Adjusts gear mapping and traction control for challenging terrain.
- Sport: Enhances performance, including an E-boost for quicker acceleration.
Equipped with Jeep’s exclusive Multilink rear suspension, typically found in larger vehicles, the Avenger 4xe ensures superior articulation and a smoother ride over rough terrain. Its advanced 48V hybrid system integrates a 1.2-liter turbo engine producing 136hp with dual 21kW electric motors at the front and rear, delivering a combined 145hp. This setup, paired with a 6-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, enables all-wheel drive and allows for full-electric mode at low speeds. The Avenger 4xe accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 9.5 seconds.
The Avenger 4xe excels in both urban and off-road settings. Hill Descent Control ensures smooth and controlled descents on steep inclines, while the 180° rear camera provides a “drone view” perspective for easier parking and maneuvering. Connectivity features like the Telematic Box and Connected Services keep drivers informed and in control via smartphone integration, adding convenience to daily drives.
In collaboration with The North Face, Jeep has introduced a special edition of the Avenger 4xe, limited to 4,806 units—a nod to Mont Blanc’s height. Inspired by nature, this edition mirrors rugged landscapes in its design, featuring a color palette of Storm, Volcano, and Snow, complemented by Summit Gold accents. Key design elements include 17” black alloy wheels with gold details, Jeep’s signature seven-slot grille with topographic patterns, and a Summit Gold skid plate protection insert. An anti-reflective hood sticker with The North Face logo enhances the vehicle’s aesthetic and functionality.
Inside, the cabin celebrates nature with dashboard topographic lines and a Mont Blanc silhouette below the Avenger logo. The numbered inscription, “One of 4806,” highlights the vehicle’s exclusivity. Custom floor mats feature 3D mountain ranges, while seats incorporate Summit Gold detailing and a design inspired by The North Face’s iconic puffer jackets. Elastic straps on the seatbacks, reminiscent of the brand’s backpacks, enhance practicality, and The North Face logo is prominently displayed.
Buyers of The North Face Edition receive a dedicated welcome kit, the North Face Explore Pack, which includes a tent, duffle bag, and water bottle in signature Summit Gold. The vehicle also offers premium features such as multi-color ambient lighting, an advanced navigation system, a heated windshield, and heated front seats—ideal for winter adventures. Passive entry and a hands-free power liftgate add convenience, making loading gear effortless.
The Jeep Avenger 4xe looks set to redefine the B-SUV segment by seamlessly blending off-road capability with modern hybrid technology and intelligent AWD. With its durable design, innovative features, and exclusive North Face Edition, this SUV is ready for any adventure. Irish market prices and specifications will be announced closer to launch.
