The AA Ireland Fuel Survey for April shows no fluctuation in fuel prices, with petrol and diesel remaining consistent for a third consecutive month. These stable vehicle fuel prices are largely good because they provide cost certainty, help with budgeting, reduce inflationary pressure, and support economic stability for both everyday drivers and businesses alike. EV running costs have also remained unchanged following last month’s drop. Stable electricity costs mean predictable and affordable running expenses, making EV ownership even more appealing.
Elena Leao, Marketing & PR at AA Ireland, noted, “While we’re not seeing any increases this month, prices remain relatively high compared to earlier in the year. That makes it even more important for drivers to stay savvy and adopt fuel-efficient habits that help keep costs manageable.”
Leao also pointed out that steady EV costs are a positive for electric drivers. “Although there’s been no change in EV costs this month, the savings compared to traditional fuel remain attractive. Drivers who make use of off-peak charging and tailored electricity plans can continue to keep their running costs low.”
